May-31-08  piteira8: Magnus displayed remarkable sange froid in this sure-handed draw even though he played most of the game one pawn dawn. Wow.
Jun-01-08  Shajmaty: 20. ♕a5 is a novelty, but not better than the already played (20. ♖hd1 and 20. ♖e1). Once again in this match, Magnus escapes...

This game should -NOT- have been a draw.

<Chess Today CT-2763> showed that Leko (White) missed win after win in the rook ending. The most straightforward win was with 48 b5-b6!

(VAR) Position after 48 b5-b6!

instead of the 48 c2-c4? that Leko actually played.

And <CT-2763> gives other winning lines for White on later moves as well. 51 ♖h7xh3+?? throws away the win for White.

Leko really blew this ending something awful.

Jan-01-13  taobert: 21. ... Qh4? I'm baffled at this move

kbob: Ten years after this game was played, while commentating Caruana-Carlsen round one GRENKE 2018, Leko still marveled at then seventeen year old Carlsen's 53. ... Rc4!!. He said it was the only move to draw and found with five seconds left on the clock.
Mar-31-18  FSTIMJP: 5 seconds, ok, great, but how many maybe minutes a move before? Probably not any, otherwise Leko would not have been impressed. Prior to Rc4, Black played two more only moves to draw. White's 51.Rxh3+ was uncalled for.
