Dec-28-11  Bryan14: First of all .. why this strange defending move 19..Qd8 ? moving the bishop on c8 wasnt better ? And what about reti's 20th move .. I Think 20.Qg6 would be more sharp and more useful althought the position in anyway hopeless for black..Or am missing something ??

OhioChessFan: 19...Qd8 is one of the worst moves I've ever seen. Not an oversight, not a time trouble issue, just an incredibly pointless antipositional blunder. However, moving the c8 Bishop won't help.

19...Bd7 20. Qb3 and soon Ne5 and Black's position collapses.

19...Be6 20. Bxe6 fxe6 21. Qb3 and again disaster

19...Bf5 or Bh3 hangs the piece.

19...Bg4 might be best but 20. Bxf7+ Kxf7 21. Ne5+ Kf8 22. Nxg4 Qxd4 23. Ne5 isn't promising.

So what is best? Maybe the ugly 19...Qf8

OhioChessFan: I tossed it in Fritz10 and at lower plies said 19...Nc7 Clearly Black has a bad game if that's the best he's got.
Dec-28-11  heuristic: i like games such as this.
13...h6 did little for BLK and from then on; WHT slowly squeezed.

to me,
13...exd4 14.Nxd4 Nf6
positions the N and frees the B.
