Kibitzer's Corner
Oct-12-09  The Chess Express: As natural as it looks 11. Nc3 is actually a mistake. Black should have played 11...e5 when 12. fxe5 Bxe5! 13. Nxe5 Nxe5 14. Bg5 Qd4+! 15. Kh1 Nxd3 16. BxNf6 gxBf6 is better for black.

11. Re1 was necessary, but black still gets an attack with 11...Rhe8 12. Nc3 e5. In my view white needs to rid himself of the backwards d-♙ with 9. d4!. After 9...cxd4 10. Nxd4 (Qxd4!?) 10...Bb4+ 11. Nc3 Nc6 (better than Bxc3+) 12. Ne2 white is consolidating into a winning endgame.

Note that 8...Nc6 is worse than 8...Bd6 because it allows white to trade knights with 9. Ne5.

Oct-12-09  chillowack: Somehow it seems like Black should have won this game.
Oct-13-09  The Chess Express: The 4. Bb5+ <Nbd7> 5. c4 a6 line is a much better way for black to play this gambit.
