plang: In the first game of the fourth round match in the World Championship tournament in Las Vegas four months earlier Movsesian had played 12 exd against Fedorov and the game had been drawn; Leko tried 12 Bxd5 which after 14 Bxc6 and 15 Nb3 seems to lead to a solid White edge. The alternative 21 Bd4..e5 22 Nxd7..exd 23 cxd..Rb7 24 Nc5..Rb4 is good for Black, after Leko's 21 e5! White was winning. 33 Bg5..Qc6 34 Rd8 would have even been stronger. Fedorov resigned due to 57..Rxa2 58 b6..Rb2 59 Kc6..Bh5 60 Re5+..Kg6 61 Rxh5..Kxh5 62 b7.
