Sep-01-14  jerseybob: At just the wrong time for a key game Kashdan comes up flatter than a pancake, and in an opening he had played countless times before. 15.Rab1, maintaining the q-side tension, might be better than bc.

  perfidious: Kashdan's eleventh move is one of the less common choices in this tabiya, which, contrary to the header, is an Exchange QGD (D36). Opening Explorer

It is unusual in these positions for Black to recapture with ....Bxc6: as Pachman pointed out long ago, he then has two weaknesses to defend rather than the pawn at c6.

Kashdan did come unstuck surprisingly quickly, though.
