Kibitzer's Corner
Mar-12-09  luzhin: This is truly weird. Up until move 18 the players follow the very well known 10th game from the 1993 Kasparov Short match. Then Gallagher 'disimproves' with 18.axb3 (Short played the much more accurate 18.Nxb3, rapidly achieving a winning position, which he blew in time trouble). Weirdest of all is that 14...Nfe4 repeats Kasparov's blunder: after 14...Nd5! 15.Bxe7 Nxe7 16.Qg3 d5, White's position would be simply bad.
