Kibitzer's Corner
Mar-14-09  dumbgai: Overall record: Yifan Hou beat Koneru Humpy 6 to 2, with 3 draws.

Take away 4 wins for Hou and 2 wins for Humpy from rapid/blitz tiebreaks and the score is 2-0 with 3 draws.

Mar-14-09  dumbgai: Nevermind, the game which Hou won at Torch Real Estate isn't in the database here. 3-0 with 3 draws.
Mar-14-09  percyblakeney: Hou had a clear advantage but messed things up a bit just before the time control with a minute on the clock, but still won with a pretty finish after the losing 45. ... Qa7 from her opponent.
Mar-14-09  whiteshark: After <45...Bh4 46.Qf3 Qxf2+ 47. Qxf2 Bxf2+ 48. Kxf2 Kxg6> the resulting endgame looks drawish

Mar-15-09  Ladolcevita: wow,Yifan is so strong..
Mar-15-09  Ladolcevita: from sina:

Yifan said in the interview later:"today's game is very tense,Koneru blundered at the 45th move.If she went Bh4,then the prospect would be still unclear.Actually she had some chances before. Now after the match,I think it would be better if i promote the pawn in a8 square, but at that moment,i dont have much time in clock,so its hard to see everything fully."

Mar-18-09  gilbav: <dumbgai> I believe this game Koneru vs Yifan Hou, 2008, which Koneru won, was not rapid nor blitz.
