Qd7 37.Nd4 Qd5 38.Nb3 Nxg3, Black wins too.> Qxe7 37. Rh8+ Kb7 38. Qd3 Qc7 <38...bxc5? 39.Qb5+ is a draw.> 39. Ka1? <39.c6+! Kxc6 40.Qa6 (followed by Rc8) Nc3+ 41.Kc1 Na2+ 42.Kb1 is a draw worthy of a puzzle.> Rd2 <39...a6!, giving a7 to the King, Black is winning.> 40. Qc4 a6! 41.g4? <41.c6+! Thank you for your excellent analysis. Granda Zuniga slowly improved his position with maneuvers, and capped it off with fine tactical shots. Vallejo-Pons got reduced to reacting to Black's plans and moves. Granda Zuniga deserved to win; and I was expecting a 0 - 1. At first I did not believe the 1 - 0 post; I had to check the final position and noticed that Black had in fact blundered away his Queen. The time control IMO is terrible, inducing blunders and precluding well-played endgames.
