Feb-06-12  David2009: First recorded example of the Fischer Defence (today's Opening of the Day). Bonnerjee Mohishunder was a fine self-taught player who gave his name to the 'Indian Defences'.

Mohishunder played 5...g5 transposing into the Muzio Gambit. Fischer recommended instead 5...h6!

Ironically Fischer never appears to have played his defence as Black in a serious game. He played against it as White in a simultaneous game Fischer vs K O Mott-Smith, 1964 - and won.

Aug-26-13  chesssalamander: Mohishunder was an amazing innovator! First Grunfeld, first Schleiman, and first Fischer! Too bad he gets ripped pretty bad in this game.
