Jul-27-09  totololo: A previous game E Inarkiev vs Naiditsch was agreed as draw. The novelty 15. Bh2 continues and shows that without a very accurate play is more difficult then expected to find that half point. A nice inventive play by White.

I propose the PUN for this game:

No wall between us mio Caro!

whiteshark: Maxime drivin the Car up the wall.
Jul-27-09  holland oats: How about something simple like..."Mad Max" or "Lagravy Train"?
Jul-27-09  zealouspawn: I like Lagravy Train :)

An Englishman: Good Evening: I like the continuation 18.e6, which leads to a position where Black has weak over-extended pawns on the King side, plus a serious deficit in his Queen side development. Perhaps Black can try 15...Ng7 to restrain the e-pawn and perhaps blockade it. A future ...h5-h4 might come in handy to slow down White's pawn majority.
Jul-27-09  OneArmedScissor: <Max Power>
Aug-02-09  Chessmensch: Vach Maxime bury Caruana in Lagrave. Incidentally, McClain features this game in his August 2 NY Times chess column.
