  naisortep: He was around 1800 at the time. I was 2000+. A few months later he was over 2200 and thrashed me.

  naisortep: While this game wasn't exactly a high point in Hikaru's career, after his blunder on move 13 he showed his talent. Most players would have resigned themselves to 14. Nf3 d4 15. Nb5 Nxe4 (16 Nxe5 ? Nxf2 with a fork.) But Hikaru finds the best practical chance with 14. Bxa6. This gives him 2 pawns and a better pawn structure for compensation.
