offramp: A very poor advert for the Bb5 Closed Sicilian. Black gets an initiative in the opening that simply would not give up. He took control of the d-file on move 19 and kept it right to the end. Black exchanged some pieces to make white's castled position look shaky, but with 33.Nf1 and 34.Kf2 white was obviously trying to build a little citadel.

Here black had a very good blitz idea; he improved his worst piece with 34...Na5. When the knight later appeared at c5, white's jig was up. Gelfand must have been pretty unhappy about this loss. He essentially just lost 10 minutes of his life. Dominguez-Perez played very well, always finding ways to keep his initiative going.
