gawain: Obvious but nifty. Qg6 check then Nxg6 then fxg6 mate! The bishop and pawn form a mutual protection society.
Nov-30-10  Jambow: No offence <sexymichelle7> but do you cut and paste the same answer every time, or most of it.

I picture some gravely voiced 55yo cigar smoking fat guy from Jersey not a 27yo areobics instructor from Beverly Hills, hope im wrong lol.

Nov-30-10  Elsinore: <Infohunter> Yeah, you're right. Thanks.
Nov-30-10  dzechiel: <Jambow: No offence <sexymichelle7> but ... I picture some gravely voiced ...>

<Jambow>, I think the smart money is on Jersey.

Nov-30-10  Elsinore: <dzechiel> <sexymichelle7> posts the exact same comment repeatedly and thinks that no one would notice. And, she describes herself as an "aerobics instructor" from Beverly Hills. Seems par for the course; not too bright. And who the hell is Tiffany??!!
Nov-30-10  Patriot: Maybe <sexymichelle7> is actually a bot.
Nov-30-10  Elsinore: Maybe she's an avatar. Big, blue, ugly and deadly with a bow.
Dec-12-10  kevins55555: THis is LOL. 4.♕h5+ <♔e7> is a horrible move.5. ♕xe5+ ♔f7 6.♗c4+ d5 7.♗xd5. LOL

kevin86: A twist:this is Damiano's Defense and Damiano is WHITE.
Apr-05-11  Antonina: Why 11... Nbc6?? It loses immediately. In my opinion Qd6 is a better move.
Apr-06-12  kontoleon: guys this chess games is 500 years ago! much deference, so maybe had an today errors...

Nightsurfer: Herewith a statue that Odemira has erected in order to commemorate the great son of that city, <Pedro Damiano>: http://comunidade.sol.pt/photos/xad...

But the way the artist has depicted Damiano that is fiction, however, since it is not known how Damiano has looked like.

Nightsurfer: The notorious <"Damiano's Defense"> has been wrongly attributed to <Pedro Damiano>, since <"Damiano's Defense"> has been assessed by <Pedro Damiano> as being an insufficient defense, please compare the German-language feature <"Damiano war es nicht ...">, herewith the link http://www.chessbase.de/nachrichten..., and the Spanish-language version of that feature <"No fue Damiano ...">, herewith the link: http://www.chessbase.com/espanola/n... (for those members of the community here who can speak Spanish, and I think that should be more than those who eventually speak German ... :-) ...).

That very feature is based on an interview with <Mario Silva Araujo> who has published a biography on Damiano, the title: <"Damiano, O Portugues E A Sua Obra">. Herewith the link that leads to a photo that depicts <Damiano>'s biographer <Mario Silva Araujo>: http://www.chessbase.com/espanola/i...

Nightsurfer: Hello dear <Webmaster>, please clarify the site where this analyse here has been published.

That is <Rome> where Pedro Damiano has lived since 1497 after having been forced to emigrate from Portugal in 1496, please compare <Mario Silva Araujo> in the biography <"Damiano, O Portugues E A Sua Obra">.

Oct-16-12  Abdel Irada: <kevin86: A twist:this is Damiano's Defense and Damiano is WHITE.>

Paradoxically, given modern opening naming conventions, Pedro Damiano never actually played the Damiano Defense, although he did spend some time analyzing (and refuting) it from the White side.

Feb-05-13  RPdigital: That old good e7 trick... He-he-hee!
Aug-02-13  Sergash: 3...fxe5? (Gambit mode from Houdini 1.5a : 3...Ne7 4.Nc4 d5 5.exd5 Nxd5 )

kevin86: Could a headline in the CHESS DAILY be:

Damiano has no defense for the Damiano Defense.

morfishine: More accurate would be 'Domino Defense'
Mar-31-17  Yigor: The immediate 6...Kg6?? would lead to the nice straightforward mate in 11 moves starting with 7. Qf5+! Kh6 8. h4! (Chess.com Explorer, Stockfish).
Mar-31-17  Yigor: 8. f4?? is indeed a blunder. The correct line: 8. h4 h5 9. Bxb7 Bd6 10. Qa5 (Stockfish: +4.64, depth=24).

Dionysius1: What's the story behind "analyse" in the title please? Did Damiano write a book called analyse, or is this analysIS from something he constructed in which there never was an opponent whose name we don't know.
Apr-01-17  Yigor: 2...f6?! (Damiano Defense, +0.76) 3. Nxe5 (Damiano Gambit, +0.52) fxe5?? (Damiano Gambit Accepted, approx. +3)

PSCC: 2Ee -> 6f2Ee

Joshka: <Yigor> So if 8.f4 is a blunder, then what does stockfish play after 8.f4?
Apr-13-17  Yigor: <Joshka> After 8. f4 black should play 8...h5! (+0.68, ChessOK / Houdini).
