Kibitzer's Corner
Oct-21-10  FISCHERboy: Damn, this Stevic is beaten so badly. He looked like a 2300 player.
Oct-21-10  FISCHERboy: One more win and he'll become world's number one in live rating of ELO (provided that Anand does not win a game in Nanjing).
Oct-21-10  aragorn69: Aronian is playing superb chess right now. If he gets to top the rating, it's deservedly so!
Oct-21-10  Ulhumbrus: The Rook sacrifice 32 Rg7+ serves to displace Black's King one square to the right so that Black can't answer the check Qb7+ with the interposition ...Ne7.
Nov-03-10  notyetagm: 32 ?

Jan-01-11  notyetagm: God how I love this game.

Aronian is a tactical god.

32 ♖g1-g7+!! Wow!

Jan-01-11  BobCrisp: <<Ulhumbrus: The Rook sacrifice 32 Rg7+ serves to displace Black's King one square to the right so that Black can't answer the check Qb7+ with the interposition ...Ne7.>>

Actually, it's to deny the e6 square to the King after Qb7+, because 32.Qb7+ Ne7 loses to the now more obvious 33.Rg7+.

Jan-17-11  notyetagm: Aronian vs H Stevic, 2010

My favorite tacitcal demolition of 2010.

May-29-12  notyetagm: Game Collection: OVERLOADED: TTTCIE: THE THREAT TO CAPTURE IS ENO
Mar-19-14  SpiritedReposte: At first I thought 28. Nd4 was to enable Qxb4. No, Aronian had something more decisive in mind.
