Kibitzer's Corner
Jul-23-13  builttospill: With the help of the beloved chess engines Critter and Stockfish, I have an improvement for black out of the opening. After 11. a3, it looks like g5 is the start of an effective plan. Play might continue 12. Qb3 Nd7 13. Qxd3 Bg7 and now, though black is down 2 pawns, white is going to have a hell of a time developing his DSB and black has play on D, E & F. White might try to get the queens off the board to calm down some of that activity, but I think there is considerable compensation for the 2 pawns. Something worth exploring for the swashbuckling players out there.
