Domdaniel: A naive kingside lunge answered by mate. Obviously one of these guys was never going to amount to much.

perfidious: Might this be John Randolph, a master from Ohio who recently returned to the battlefield after nearly twenty years' absence from serious play?

FSR: <perfidious> I played John B. Randolph (former Senior Master, now down to 2223) yesterday and asked if this was him. He said no, it wasn't.
Jul-04-20  phil master: I was playing senior master jon schroer on the board next to this game. The man who played white in this game was Tony Randolph who I met playing speed chess at dupont circle in Washington DC. Anand even then was known as easy going nice guy and a good sport. He certainly proved that by the way he accepted the result of this game. I am delighted that he is still one of the best players the world at 50 years of age.
