Jul-18-15  RKnight: White could hold on a bit better with 38. Qxe5 (Black cannot retake). Also Caruana's last move 40...Bf5 makes no sense; he should just queen the pawn. However he is still ahead and White resigned.
Jul-18-15  jith1207: 39.Qxe5 seems to be a very good move indeed. Black cannot take queen, Black's another rook also has become under a threat if played. Also, White acquires the diagonal where there could be a valid try to hold off the Black's main threats. But not sure if that is enough to win the game, Black could be already on the way to queen the pawn or gain another piece, say knight or rook, in that process.
