Mar-24-14  ughaibu: A hundred and forty nine moves is pretty extreme, for a postal game. I wonder what the record is.

<ughaibu>,

According to Tim Harding's book "The Write Move", the longest authenticated CC game is 186 moves, played by Jean-Pierre Bedu and Philippe Lemaire in a French domestic tournament in 1989, with Lemaire winning as Black.

This game shares the record for the longest draw in a competitive event. The other 149 move draw is Dusan Merlini v Mitja Gerzina, from the semi-finals of the 2000 Slovenian CC Championship.

Jul-17-18  ughaibu: Thanks.
