Is this what happened. Did Bird, who was apparently giving the simul, really take that a1 Rook here...

...and play on till mate a few moves later.

Is it a piece of analysis to show what would have happened and it has taken over the game.

Is it another Bird (although we Know our Henry was in Montreal at this time.)

Have the names been swapped over by the gremlins. (then we ask did Atkinson, a noted problem composer really take the A1 Rook and walk into a two move mate.)

I only stumbled on this game because I needed a game from 1877 which has not been mauled to bits (no comments) by you lot.

Thomas Alva Edison invented the phonograph in 1877, that is why I need a game played in 1877.
