Domdaniel: Wow. Exquisite play by Muzychuk.

I was sorry when she (and her sister) stopped playing the Dutch, but the Blumenfeld is also interesting, complex - and aggressive.

Feb-15-18  RTJR: Did you mean the Benko instead of the Blumenfeld?
Premium Chessgames Member
  Domdaniel: <RTJR> - No, actually. I used to play the Mod Benoni, and now I sometimes play the Blumenfeld after 1.d4 e6 2.c4 Nf6 3.Nf3 c5 4.d5 b5 etc.
Feb-19-18  RTJR: <Domdaniel> My apologies, you are correct. I was confusing the Blumenfeld with the Budapest.
Premium Chessgames Member
Domdaniel: <RTJR> Don't worry, it's very easy to confuse those European B's - Belgrade, Berlin and Budapest as well as Benko, Benoni, Blumenfeld... no wonder Miles opted for St George rather than Birmingham.
Feb-20-18  RTJR: <Domdaniel> LOL

And why do almost all great players have a "K" or hard "C" in their name? Made me happy when Anand became WC.

Premium Chessgames Member
Domdaniel: Yes, and it's not just < a "K" or hard "C" > - look at all the names starting KAR -- Karpov, Karuana, Karlsen etc.
