Kibitzer's Corner
Feb-28-21  optimal play: 11...Nxe4? 12.Nxe4?

I don't get it?!

Black presumably played 11...Nxe4 anticipating white would respond with 12.Nxe4 which he duly did, allowing black to continue with 12...Qxd2+! 13.Bxd2 Bxd4 ⩱

But why did both players disregard the simple 12.fxe4 which captures the knight apparently giving white a clear material advantage?

As far as I can see black has no recourse after white captures with the f-pawn.

Where's the trap?

25...Bd3?? much better is 25...Nxg4!

28...Be4?? instead 28...f6 is an even endgame.

29.Bf6+! wins
