May-29-21  optimal play: 55.Re8!?

"Mr. Foster saw he could have won the queen and knight for rook with 55.RxKt but perceived the mating position looming ahead."

If 55.Rxd8 then 55...Qxd8 56.Ne6+! wins the queen and game easily.

Instead 55.Re8 Kf7 certainly mates quicker after 56.Qe3!

But white errs with 56.Qe2? which allows black to drag the game out another 15 moves before realising the inevitable.

Foster eventually finished the tournament =4th/10 with a score of 5/9

Christenson finished 7th on 4½/9
