<28...Rd4> isn't great. A futile attempt to save the b-pawn, but black isn't dead yet. After <29.Be3> black *MUST* keep the ♖ on the d-file and abandon that ♙.

Going back to d8 may well be best but elsewhere on that file is OK, e.g. <29.Be3 Rdd7 30.Ra8? Rd1+> trading off the dangerous ♖.
