  ChessCoachClark: It intrigues me how the continuation 42. Rd1 Rg2# brings the game to its conclusion with a Hook Mate where a distant, second Rook protects the attacking Rook.

  ChessCoachClark: Excuse me-- my earlier post should have identified the continuation 42. Rd1 Rg2# as a Vukovic Mate. (The Hook Mate pattern has the Rook "behind" the attacked King.)
