Eggman: The Batavo Gambit, eh? Just discovered this. Surprised this queen-sac variation isn't better known. GM Hector has essayed this variation via the move order 1.e4 c5 2.f4 d5 3.Nf3!?, but there are no examples of his on the database.

I wonder if Black can play 4...Bf5 (after 4.Ng5), since 5.g4 Bg6 6.f5 can be countered by 6...e6. Also 5...Bd7 (after 5.g4), to try to prove that White's kingside is overextended and put the bishop on the inviting h1-a8 diagonal, looks like an idea. Might be worth a try.

Aug-21-17  Dlegvold: Dana Mackenzie has some great articles on this opening at his blog. He actually has a draw against Sergei Kudrin OTB with this line (Played in Reno not to long ago).
Aug-21-17  Dlegvold: Dana coined the opening the Brynste Gambit.
