fredthebear: Interesting game of a foregone style! A queen sacrifice on move eight exposes the Black king for a walk. There's a White knight and rook sacrifice too.

32.f6 is a fairly simple yet nice find - a game clincher, perhaps identified as a necessary flight prevention move after considering the tempting NxBd7+. 32.f6 would also be easy to overlook given the dark-squared bishop is hanging. (Then again, they were not "on the clock" back then, so falling prey to playing an inferior/obvious capture seems less likely. FTB's student would have captured either/or and ruined the mate.)

In the final position, the knight threatens mate on the move as the Black king has no move. Sliding the Black rook sideways to create a flight square does not save the day.
