SteinitzLives: The draw result is a bit disappointing since white has pawn weaknesses and blacks advanced Q side Ps could help to possibly attack the white K.

Perhaps a case of the lower rated and titled player offering the draw to just get out of the stress? Perhaps accepted by white not wanting to start 0-2?

May-05-13  waustad: These decisions are often made with one eye to the clock. png files usually don't give us any insight into these issues. Does anybody recall what the times were at the end?
May-05-13  waustad: According to chessbomb, Arnold had 1 m 45 s left, so he moght have felt that he didn't have time to calculate an attacking line and opted for a safe 1/2 point.
May-05-13  Just Another Master: such a ni9ce position for black to offer the draw, wish he would have just played on, damn the torpedoes, you only live once, et al
