  SteinitzLives: It's no wonder this variation of the QGD Semi-Tarrasch is not real popular and black has a positively horrid historic % of losses in it. Look how many tempi black gives away in the opening and gets so little compensation.

Throw this one on the trash heap and let black go back to the drawing board and try his luck with 4 . . . . exd5.

It was like watching a Gruenfeld where black could never fianchettoe his K side B. I felt blacks' pain, and think even a lesser player than Christiansen would have performed well from move 10 on, no problem.
