Kibitzer's Corner
Sep-30-13  ozmikey: Nice game. Bacrot played the opposite-coloured bishop middlegame to perfection and cleaned up very efficiently after getting the two pieces for the rook + pawn.

It looks to me like White should have gone for it with 16. g4 with 17. f4 to follow, accepting the piece "sacrifice". Black gets some compensation in the form of two pawns and a weakened White king, but should it really be enough? On the other hand, Black could muddy the waters with 16...b5 instead (after 16. g4), which might be a better option. At any rate, certainly appears better for White than what happened in the game.

Sep-30-13  ozmikey: Actually, I've just realised that White needs to slip in 17. g5 after 16. g4 before attacking the knight on e5, to block the Black queen's route to the king-side.
Oct-01-13  Mudphudder: This might be the cleanest win using the Benoni defense I've seen. Usually games starting this way end up getting crazy.
