Kibitzer's Corner
Mar-20-14  Karpova: The annotator, Adolf Zinkl ('Neue Freie Presse', 1910.02.26) calls 12...Qg5 the initiation of a mistaken attack, yet it seems that Black's position is not yet worse. But Reti remains aggressive, weakening his position too much. This is nicely demonstrated by Loewy.

Mar-20-14  thomastonk: Hello, <Karpova>! I tried to find out whether Zinkl had a regular chess column in the "Neue Freie Presse", which is also available at ANNO, see http://anno.onb.ac.at/cgi-content/a.... I haven't found the answer so far, but I've seen the article the WSZ is quoting: http://anno.onb.ac.at/cgi-content/a....

The comment of 12.. ♕g5 given in WSZ ("Hiermit leitet Schwarz einen verfehlten Angriff ein. ...") is there a comment to 9.. ♘g4. I don't see any comment on 12.. ♕g5. Do I miss something?

Mar-21-14  Karpova: <thomas>

No, you don't seem to miss something. Indeed, the WSZ appearantly moved Zinkl's annotation for move 9 to move 12.
