Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-08-14  luzhin: This game is really a story of the domination of White's QB by Black's Knight. On the great square e6 it kept the prelate under lock and key -- and when it seemed to escape to the other side of the board it rapidly hunted it down and won it.
Apr-08-14  Refused: Yesm but don't forget that Grischuk's Bishop were simply superior roughly from around move 23 Grischuk's pieces got to active squares that in the end netted the pawn in. While White's Bishops were somewhat powerless.
Apr-09-14  zoren: Model game for players that want an active way to combat the London System.

perfidious: Black's final, lonesome foot-soldier at h5 is left to decide matters, as Morozevich decided not to test his redoubtable opponent's technique in the ending K,N+RP vs K.

  patzer2: Here's a position from a likely continuation of play from the final position after 55. e6 Nxe6+! 56. fxe6 Kxe6 57. Ke4 f5+ 58. Kf4 Kf6 59. Ke3 Ke5 60. Kf3 f4 61. Kf2 Ke4 62. Ke2 f3+ 63. Kf2 Kf4 64. Kf1 Ke3 65. Ke1 (Diagram below)

Here Black wins with 65...Kd3!
(Not 65... f2+ ?? 66. Kf1=),

when play might continue 66. Kf2 Ke4 67. Kf1 Kf4 68. Kf2 Kg4 69. Kf1 Kg3 70. Kg1 Kxh4 71. Kf2 Kg4 72. Kg1 Kg3 73. Kf1 h4 74. Kg1 h3 75. Kh1 Kf4 76. Kg1 Ke3 77. Kf1 h2 78. Ke1 .

Apr-10-14  Refused: Why the detour?

65...Kf4 seems to be quicker.
66.Kf2 Kg4 etc.
Or 66.Kf1 Kg3 etc.

Apr-13-14  ndg2: So this is how you battle the London system! Good to know.
