Kibitzer's Corner
Oct-03-14  Karpova: P S Leonhardt annotated the game in the 'Hamburger Nachrichten'.

Fahrni thought for 40 minutes before playing 7...Ne4.

Leonhardt suggests <9...e5!>. Not mentioned was 9...0-0, which appears to be good.

Leonhardt doesn't consider the manoeuvre initiated with 13...a6 favourable for Black.

15...Qa3<?> was a mistake. Leonhardt suggests <15...Qb4>, after which Black had a probably defensible position. I wonder if the position after 15...Qb4 may not even be slightly better for Black.

More resistance was offered by 16...Bg4, than 16...Rb8 which loses the ♕.
