It really opened up your K-side.

Instead 20...Nb6 looked alright.


Andrews played this quite well.

Difficult to beat an opponent rated 150+ when they don't make any obvious errors.

Absolutely. 20...gxf4 was bad. I remember I played it with the intention of a follow up that then I realized was not possible. I think I was planning 21...Nc5 and then I saw 22.Qg3. (Because it looks like if 22.Qd4 I have 22...Nxe4, right? Maybe? Honestly, I don't remember what I saw that made me think gxf4 was okay.)

Todd Andrews is tough. I played him four times. One draw (when I played white), and three defeats, all with black. One of them shamefully blundered. They are all in this database.
