  Gilmoy: Actually, it's to open the c1-h6 diagonal for mate, e.g. 33..exf5 34.Be5+ Kh6 35.Bf4#. White already owned f5, so it was not necessary to force Black to self-block it.

<20..e6 21.Nde7+> recalls the always-delightful Stanishevsky vs Nikonov, 1981.
