Penguincw: Damn. Black just allowed white to get them cramped. 16...Ng4 didn't look like a great move at first, but the alternative is 16...Nf7 17.e6 Nh8.

I don't quite get 21...Qd7 though. Sure, white was already much better (if not winning), but I would save the rook instead of move the queen. Perhaps black was calculating 21...Qc7 (instead of 21...Qd7) 22.a5 Nd7 23.Nxf8 Rxf8, and black has at least some piece activity???

Feb-19-15  Mating Net: What a crush by Vishy. He suffocated Black and never moved his entire Queen side except for the Knight!
Feb-19-15  MarkFinan: Yeah, nice little game and I enjoyed going over it. But these guys are super super GM's that can play, and beat, 50 people at a time in simuls, beat 2300's blindfold, memorise every opening possible, beat people like us in their sleep etc etc etc etc.... Yet this looks like one of my games against Droidfish on 60% strength with a 5 minute time limit!? Maybe Caruana was having a really bad day, but this doesn't look like a super GM game, rapid or not.

You're only human Benny. Lol. Nah, it's true though. If someone who I talk with at this site showed me this game saying it's their own, I'd believe them.

Dec-10-16  jerseybob: <Mating Net: What a crush by Vishy. He suffocated Black and never moved his entire Queen side except for the Knight!> You don't necessarily have to "move" the queenside if the pieces - here the bishop and rook - are ideally placed on their original squares.
