Kibitzer's Corner
Sep-11-15  Ulhumbrus: 13 Bb2!! does not allow the N on d4 to remain where it can replace its colleague on f5 in the event of Bxf5.
Sep-24-15  zanzibar: After move 27...Be8 Black's position could be called a "back rank defense".

His most advanced piece is the king.

The material may be even but White looks to be totally dominating... wonder what the eval is?

Let's check:

(After 28...Rc8)

Stockfish/21-ply give +2.93. Ouch.

Working backwards, a turning point looks to be at move 13, when the bold 13...Qb6 or less-bold 13...Qc5 are better.

Ulhumbrus is right, identifying it as a good move (with some extra enthusiasm).

But the move 13...Qa5+ just squanders a tempo, since White's king wants to go to f1 anyways. And in the Winawer every tempo counts.

13...Qb6 pins the bishop, and if 14.c3 Qb3! sets up a nice double pin (B+P) allowing the knight to get back to c6.
