Kibitzer's Corner
Nov-19-15  TheFocus: From a simultaneous exhibition in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on April 2, 1909.

Capablanca scored +16=4-2.

Feb-19-17  offramp: I've read that Capablanca had a low opinion of the Sicilian Defence. If he did, then that is odd because he played it as Black 6 times with a score of +4, =2.

Playing against it as White, like in this game, he did not do very well: +15, -7, =5. I make that 64%.

This game was the first of those 7 losses.

Feb-19-17  refutor: 1909 must have been a great time to play chess...can you imagine playing the Dragon and facing Be3, Be2 every game? must have been magical :)
