Kibitzer's Corner
Sep-28-17  Marmot PFL: Another win over a Russian GM to give Tarjan 3.5/6 and a 2662 PR. Here unlike the Kramnik game he plays aggressively from the start

andrewjsacks: Knight forks all over the notes. Well done, James.
Sep-28-17  fispok: Brilliantly waiting to give the bishop back for both runaway pawns, and also trap the knight in the corner using opposition. After not playing for 30 years, the man is on fire.
Sep-29-17  Mudphudder: Jim "old man suspenders" Tarjan does it again!! I hope this is all a part of a slow but steady comeback in his chess prowess.

Can't wait to see what else he can do in future tournaments.

Oct-01-17  jaime gallegos: well done JT
Oct-16-17  diagonal: Trivia: Tarjan beat an absolute GM (male norms) married couple at the same chess tournament :))

Isle of Man 2017: GM Tregubov and later GM Kosteniuk, married since 2015: http://chess-news.ru/en/node/19713, and both otb-victim of Tarjan at IoM 2017.

It's happened before, (eg.) at the Graz Open in 2016, Markus Ragger beat GM Monika Socko and GM Bartosz Socko, not just in the same tournament but in consecutive rounds!
