May-04-18  Jamboree: I nominate this for worst game of the year. literally 100 moves in a row of doing nothing and going nowhere. Why???

louispaulsen88888888: I see it was a team tournament, which would account for Whiteís persistence. But surely, when they got down to a basic Lucena position( I think thatís what itís called, anyway the basic draw around move 106, she could in good conscience concede the half point. But she continues, even in an elementary king and pawn ending. But again, if there was a lot riding on the outcome of the game, it is understandable to give it your all for the team.
Jun-26-18  dumbgai: You mean the Philidor position. The Lucena is the one where the stronger side has his king in front of the pawn and is winning.
