Material is even, but eval is +2, imo due to weak ♙a6, development and ♗♗pair.

An Englishman: Good Evening: Does this mean that Mikhail Tal, like Elvis Presley, is still alive?! Sure looks that way.
Sep-23-20  areknames: Good pun for a truly 'firouzjous' attack. In the final position 22...Kf7 is followed by 23.Qc4+ and mates. Fiddle around at your own peril in the open sicilian.

al wazir: After 16...O-O, white is a ♖ down.

Why not play 18...Bxb4 ?

Or since white can pick up a ♘ or an exchange in the corner anytime he wants, why not simplify by 18...Bxf2+ 19. Kxf2 Qb6+ 20. Be3 Qxb4 ? The ♕ defends b7, e7, and g4, at least temporarily.

I don't understand this game.

Sep-23-20  areknames: <After 16...O-O, white is a ♖ down> What good is the extra rook if your pieces are all locked away on the Q side and your K is about to be slaughtered? Black's last chance was to give back some material with 17...Nd7 but even then she is clearly lost.

<Why not play 18...Bxb4 ?> White still plays 18.Qg4 and wins easily.

<why not simplify by 18...Bxf2+ 19. Kxf2 Qb6+ 20. Be3 Qxb4 ?> White plays 20.Kg2 and after 20...Qxb4 possibly 21.Bh6 followed by Re4 then Qg4, the attack is just overwhelming

Sep-23-20  schnarre: Nice analysis <whiteshark>!
Sep-23-20  Brenin: Not bad for a 15-year-old. He went on the finish joint first, with 7/9.
