MissScarlett: The (Brooklyn) Daily Standard Union, June 23rd 1901, p.4:

<Charles Curt, of the Brooklyn Chess Club, paid another visit to the Eden Musee, last week, and had two interesting games with Ajeeb, the automaton player. The first he lost, but the second he won in brilliant style. We are indebted to him for the score of this game. Mr. Curt is a specialist in the Algaier [sic] gambit and his refutation of Ajeeb's new move, 13.-- P-QKt4 is prettily executed and worthy of careful examination.>
