fredthebear: The White queen has tactical opportunities lurking in the final position.

If 27...fxe6? 28.Qf6+ Ke8/Kg8 29.Qxe6+ followed by 30.QxRc4. LPDO.

Black must also be aware that 27...Rxb4? or 27...Nd6? allows 28.e7+ Ke8 29.Qg8+ skewering royalty on the back rank.

jith1207: And, I initially thought 27..Nd8 could prevent the skewer and also defend e6 and f7.

But, White still has an effective plan.

28.e7+ Ke8 29.exd8=Q+ Qxd8 30.Qb5+ Kf8 31.Qxc4, and a won game.
