Kibitzer's Corner
May-15-20  The Rocket: Magnus keeps blundering badly.... What is going on?
May-16-20  MordimerChess: Not much to add here. Just blunder in boring position. But at least if you would like to enjoy my work with Anton Korobov's hairstyle in thumbnail, visit my video analysis:

Aw... and the game could also be called "catch me if you can" as Magnus ran with his naughty bishop trying to avoid exchange :D

HeMateMe: seems very drawish after 12 moves. Why would Magnus Carlsen lose such a game?

It's Blitz, and in Blitz anything can happen, no matter how strong a player you are. Would any of us have played 16...Nd7(?) at Classic time controls? I doubt it, even I would not have played it.

<"It's Blitz, and in Blitz anything can happen.">

In Blitz I've won, drawn and lost.

Not once has the two headed monster from Zinge jumped up out of the square e4 and ran off with my shoes, so clearly anything cannot happen in blitz.

AylerKupp: <Sally Simpson> Well, its happened to me. Twice, although once it was from the d4 square. One time it ran off with a pair of my favorite shoes and the other time with a pair of my tennis shoes which, fortunately, were well worn and needed replacement anyway.

And I lost both Blitz games on time because I had to chase them off since they were headed in the direction of my wine collection (they can smell an aged Pinot Noir a mile away) and I had to head them off. To me some things <are> more important than chess.

So I stand by my statement that anything can happen in Blitz.

Corrected: It does indeed sound like anything can happen at blitz.
