Kibitzer's Corner
Jun-21-20  Taxman: 17...Nb8!? Remarkable move!
Jun-21-20  Ulhumbrus: 14 Nxf6+ loses a third tempo to exchange the N for a bishop moved twice and which the black Q can replace with a developing move. Perhaps it concedes too much in return for removing Black's bishop pair.

The GM commentators indicated that the giving up of White's central e4 pawn in exchange for Black's b pawn was a poor bargain. White's e pawn was the more valuable.

Jun-21-20  SChesshevsky: Interesting trick with 31. Rxa4 Nxa4 32.Qa7 fork.
Jun-28-20  Zenchess: Crazy case of mutual chess blindness. On moves 31, 32, and 33, White had a chance to win material by Rxa4!! and Qa7, a double attack. I guess it never occurred to White that the World Champion would commit such an oversight.
Jun-28-20  Zenchess: Also, the trade of the b pawn for the e pawn with 38. Qxb3 was not bad. The game is even here, with Carlsen's Q-B battery offset by the outside passer. White's real mistake came on move 40, when he gave away his passer with 40. c5? 40. b4 would have held the balance.
