Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-10-20  MordimerChess: Quite a passive choice of Daniil Dubov. Naka was also surprised and criticized a couple of Daniil moves in the interview.

But at the end double queen sacrifice, which was probably the worst winning move possible... but luckily it was enough to fast win.

Aug-11-20  Ulhumbrus: It may be that according to the present state of theory if Black knows all of the intricacies of the Sicilian Lasker-Pelikan he can barely save himself, which is to say that all of White's attempts to win get frustrated as in the Carlsen- Caruana match.

However this may be not the last word and we cannot rule out the possibility that in the future White will try something else and win barely whereupon Black will then have to try something else.

Leko indicated that 15...Bd7 allowing the capture 16 Bxa6 was a mistake. The course of the game after 20...f5 suggests that White's play based on the advance of the passed b pawn arrives too quickly for Black to save himself by advancing his e pawn.
