SteinitzLives: Wow! White plays 1 a3 and hangs the exchange on move 13. Black misses mate in one on move 26 but at least finds it a move later when white misses it, again! This is the U.S. Championship?

Let's please place a massive asterisk next to not only this game but this tourney. Next to the asterisk please write "speed tourney, with many rusty players", or better yet, simply, "arcade chess".

SteinitzLives: Ok, not the U.S. Championsip, the U.S. Senior Ch., but still, really?

The matching name and city would seem to indicates that Mr. Getz is a math instructor, which should keep one's brain rather nimble: https://www.linkedin.com/in/shelby-...

It appears that Getz opened 1.a3 with the White pieces at every opportunity in this tournament.
