GrahamClayton: Played as part of a 17 game simul during the Walla Walla Christmas Chess Festival. 5-time Oregon champion Montchalin finished with a score of +15, -0, =2.

  fredthebear: Walla Walla WA!

That fianchettoed Black Qg7 looks oddest in such an odd-looking (but interesting) game. Black's kingside pawn expansion with struggling piece development was a failed approach starting with 5...f5.

So how does a chap from Australia <GC> come up with such numbers/detail from a simul exhibition in 1986?? Those were still pre-internet days; no world wide web.
