This game was not played by <Peter Ivanov>.

It was played by <G. Ivanov>.

Evidence for G. Ivanov as the correct participant at the Sverdlovsk 1942 tournament:

1. rusbase lists <G. Ivanov> in the crosstable.

2. Rolf Voland, "Strategem im Hinterland- Das UdSSR-Schach 1941-1945" (Schackverlag Kania, 1998), p.68 also lists <G. Ivanov> as the participant.

Voland sources his data to a contemporaneous tournament bulletin published in 1942: "Sverdlovskij sachmatnyj turnir s ucastiem masterov SSSR"

3. A passage from A. Terentyev and K. Bronnikov, History of Chess of Yekaterinburg" that has been posted online here:

From the passage: "The first successful test for George Iliwitsky already as a candidate for the master of sports was the show tournament in Sverdlovsk, which was held right at the height of the Great Patriotic War, in 1942. Five masters of sports and six candidates for masters took part in it. In addition to Ilivitsky, Sverdlovsk was also represented by I. Boleslavsky, G. Bastrikov and <G. Ivanov>."
