Alexander Anatolevich Kuindzhy was the Soviet representative at the 6th World Junior Championship, The Hague, August 12 - September 2, 1961. He finished third after Bruno Parma and Florin Gheorghiu, although he defeated both of them.

Kuindzhy finished in 14th place at the 19th Senior World Championship, Condino (ITA), 2009

1970 fand der Russe <Alexander Kuindzhi> eine Widerlegung von Mitrofanows Lösung. Man versuchte in der Folge, die Ausgangsstellung zu korrigieren, um die Lösung zu retten.
