Dr. Horst Edward Hermann Meyer Leede was born in Chemnitz, Germany and came to USA in 1906. He graduated as a physician in 1919 and worked at St. Vincent's Hospital, Manhattan. His son Edward Horst "Ed" Leede (1927-2018) was a professional basketball player who played for the Boston Celtics from 1949 to 1951.
